CSV

CSV Viewer

View, sort, and search CSV files and CSV data in a responsive, paginated table.

Rows are parsed live as you type or pick a file.

CSV data and files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to TechFixGen. Cell values are displayed as plain text and are never executed.

Paste CSV data or choose a file to view it as a table here.

Your data stays private

This tool runs directly in your browser. The content you enter is processed locally and is not sent to TechFixGen servers. No account or signup is required.

CSV viewing guide

Inspect tabular data in a table

Paste CSV text or choose a local file to render the data as a responsive table. The first row is treated as the header, data rows follow underneath. Sort by clicking a column header, search across every column, and page through results with the prev/next controls. Delimiter detection runs live as you type or pick a file.

Automatic delimiter detection

The viewer understands four separators: Comma (,), Tab, Semicolon (;) and Pipe (|). Auto Detect counts how often each candidate separates values outside quoted content and picks the most frequent one, preferring the header line. When the counts are tied the choice is fixed and deterministic. Real-world files are rarely ambiguous; if one is, use the Delimiter control to force a specific separator instead of relying on auto-detection.

Quotes, escapes, and multi-line cells

Fields wrapped in double quotes may contain delimiters, newlines, and quotes. A doubled quote ("") is the standard way to include a literal quote, and a backslash before a quote (") is also accepted. Both CRLF and LF line endings work, and a quoted value may span multiple lines. If a quote is never closed, a warning is shown instead of dropping the row, and the value is kept as-is so no data is lost.

Sorting and searching

Click a column header once to sort ascending, again to sort descending, and a third time to return to the original order. Cells are compared numerically when both sides look like numbers, and alphabetically otherwise; equal values keep their original order and empty cells sort to the end in ascending order. Search matches case-insensitively against every column of the data rows, and the row counter reads like "Showing 24 of 150 rows" when a filter is active. Row numbers stay continuous across pages.

Row counts and pagination

Choose 25, 50, or 100 rows per page. The footer reports the exact slice you are looking at, for example "Showing 1–25 of 76 rows". Searching and sorting recompute the page count automatically, so a narrow filter can shrink big files into a few pages.

Files, size, and browser memory

A selected file is read as plain text entirely in your browser. Because the whole document is loaded into memory, files up to 10 MB are supported; larger files are rejected with a clear message rather than risk hanging the tab. Very large but accepted files may briefly pause the page while they are parsed.

What the viewer does and does not do

This tool renders and navigates the values you provide as plain text. It does not convert, edit, execute, or export CSV, and it does not run spreadsheet formulas or macros in cells, which keeps untrusted files safe to open. Cell content is displayed exactly as parsed and is never rendered as markup.

Privacy

Processing happens locally in the browser. CSV content is not uploaded to TechFixGen, is not sent inside analytics events, and is not saved in the URL, localStorage, or sessionStorage. Copy writes the source text to your clipboard only when you click it. Reloading the page clears the workspace.

Frequently asked questions

Is my CSV data uploaded anywhere?

No. CSV data is parsed locally in your browser, is not uploaded to TechFixGen, and is not included in analytics events or saved in the URL, localStorage, or sessionStorage. Copy writes the source text to your clipboard only when you click it, and reloading the page clears the workspace.

Which delimiters are supported?

Comma, Tab, Semicolon, and Pipe. Auto Detect compares how often each candidate separates values outside quoted content and picks the most frequent one deterministically. If a file is ambiguous, choose the exact separator from the Delimiter control.

Does it handle quoted commas and newlines inside cells?

Yes. Quoted fields can contain delimiters and can span multiple lines, with both CRLF and LF line endings accepted. A literal quote is written as two quotes (""), and a backslash before a quote is also accepted. An unclosed quote produces a warning and the value is kept as-is rather than dropped.

How are rows with a different number of columns handled?

The table uses as many columns as the widest row and shows empty cells as — where values are missing. A row whose value count differs from the first row is flagged with a warning so you can verify the data still lines up the way you expect.

Can I rearrange or edit the data?

You can sort, search, paginate, and copy the CSV while viewing it, but cells are not editable here. This tool is a viewer; conversion and editing are separate tools TechFixGen is building for future releases.

Does sorting or searching change my file or input?

No. Sorting, searching, and pagination only reorder how rows are displayed. The original text is preserved, and Copy always copies the original source text, not the currently sorted view.

How large a CSV file can I open?

Files up to 10 MB are supported. The whole file is read and parsed in your browser, so accepted files close to the limit can briefly pause the page while they are processed. Larger files are rejected with a clear explanation.

Does the viewer run formulas or scripts found in cells?

No. Every value is rendered as plain text and never executed as a formula, macro, or markup. This keeps opening untrusted CSV files safe, but it also means spreadsheet formulas are not evaluated.
